Our first wedding of 2019

When a bride came to us last year with her wishes for her perfect winter wedding flowers, we were so excited to get started. She wanted a burgundy and cream colour scheme with a pine cone theme. Beautiful! The ideas she sent us (pictured below) were of mixed flowers and greenery with wintery berries and pine cones dotted throughout. Flower girl wands are a great alternative to small bouquets or baskets which small children aren't always too keen on holding! They look so dainty and finish off the innocent little flower girl look perfectly.

With the images above in hand, we began to contact our best suppliers and visit selected wholesalers. We knew a mixture of tea and antique cream roses would look graceful paired with burgundy coloured peonies. Both flowers are ideal for weddings with their romantic look and feel, they are a popular choice with our brides. We added some cream and burgundy carnations, which brought extra charm and romance with their delicate petals. In contrast to the rustic look of the pine cones, the flowers were perfect to match the bride's vision. The buttonholes created a dot of colour for the groomsmen's suits, with miniature burgundy and cream roses to complement the bouquets. We used twine and lace to hug the stems together tightly, giving the nervous bride a firm grip on her beautiful bouquet as she walked down the aisle.
